In May of 2011, our team acquired P-51 Precious Metal and after a few weeks of prep and test flying, we took her to PRS (Pylon Racing Seminar, June 15-19). The week was succesful and Thom now holds Unlimited Race Pilot’s License #228. He will enter the airplane in the 2011 Reno National Championship Air Races, Sept 14-18, 2011. The aircraft is permanently base at the Kissimmee Air Museum (when it’s not in Reno...) and can be seen there every day. It’s currently undergoing a major overhaul of systems, engine components and various parts in order to be as safe and successful as possible on our limited budget.
