Jet Race #3 Pole Dancer
Jet Race #3 Pole Dancer
Neubert Aero Corp. and International Friction Paving Association’s entry in the 2010 National Championship Air Races is Jet Race #3, “Pole Dancer”. Originally built in Poland as a frontline close air support and advanced jet trainer, she now serves a completely different purpose chasing down L-29’s, L-39’s, Jet Provost, Fouga’s and Vampire Jets around the pylons in the world’s fastest motor sport, Air Racing.
NAC president Tim Neubert and Pilot Thom Richard took delivery of the aircraft in early May in Phoenix, AZ and ferried it home to Kissimmee, FL to get her ready in time for the 2010 Pylon Racing Seminar (PRS) in Reno. The qualification runs went off without a hitch and we’re now ready to bring her back to Reno in September. The aircraft is basically stock except with miscellaneous military systems removed which makes it a bit lighter. The Jet class requires a first time entry to race in the stock configuration the first year, so our anticipated placement in the field should be somewhere in the middle of the silver race. Next year however...
The Iskra (Polish for Spark) is still in service today and is used by the Polish Air Force exhibition team, the Sparks.
Both Formula 1 airplanes, Race #40 Miss USA and Race #1 Invictus will return to Reno flown by Gary Davis and Philip Goforth respectively. Please come see us in action, September 15-19, 2010 at the Reno Stead Airport in Nevada!

Reno 2010 was an extremely successful year for us all. We ended up with the fastest stock airplane, the fastest Rookie team and first won the Silver and then moved up and took 7th in the Gold. The Jet Gold is the fastest heat in the fastest motor sport in the world...

Being restricted to a stock airframe, we are very please with the results. Next year we are not restricted to a stock motor or airframe. What’s coming next year? More speed... More airplanes... More fun!
We have some of the best HD video ever recorded from an air racer from this year. We had 15 GoPro camera mounts on Race #3. It’s currently being edited and will be out soon. You will have the best seat in the house and experience what it’s like to hug the desert floor at over 450 mph. Stand by!
